Just a reminder that children must bring in their reading book every day. If you are not sure which stage book your child is on or would like to discuss anything about their reading book then please come and ask. Thank you for your support.
For PE, children should wear black shorts or leggings, white tee-shirt, bare feet.
For outdoor games, children should wear their full PE kit with pumps or trainers.
Children are not allowed to wear jewellery for PE, dance or games lessons. Children with long hair should tie their hair back and head-scarfs should be tucked in.
Homework is given out on a Wednesday and should be returned to school the following Monday.
As part of this year's arts initiative, Year Three will be studying “Scavengers and Settlers”: this project follows the latest research into hunter-gatherer societies and cave-paintings from 30,000 years ago, with a particular emphasis on the huge significance of these works of art to early man’s survival, and the absence of hierarchy in their social groupings. The project culminates in the establishment of the first farming communities by the control of irrigation, the development of writing and the creation of a ruling class.
Year 3 visited Whitworth Park to take part in a Forest School day. During the day children developed their independence and team working skills . The children had a fabulous day and wrote stories, made and learned about some of the sculptures in Whitworth Park. Why not visit Whitworth Park to see the Flailing Tree Sculpture or the Black Snowman Sculpture?
Year 3 have been learning all about Buddhism. As part of their topic, they recently visited the local Buddhist Centre to find out more.
In March the children took part in World Book Day. They dressed up as characters from books and really enjoyed reading stories to other children.
Year 3 have been learning the recorders. They sound absolutely fantastic!
